الرياض: يعد محرك البحث "سوافى" هو أول محرك بحث عربي على الانترنت، وينافس محركات البحث العالمية مثل جوجل وياهو ويعتبر هذا المحرك أضخم محرك بحث عربي من نوعه على مستوى العالم وتم تصميمه ليحقق احتياجات الباحث العربي بدقة متناهية، وسيتم التدشين الرسمي له في مطلع أكتوبر المقبل، ويهدف للحفاظ على قيمة اللغة العربية
ويحتوى سوافي على اللهجات العربية المختلفة وامكانية التعرف عليها، وعرض كافة المحتويات المشابهة على الشبكة العالمية، ويتضمن أيضاً على أدوات فهرسة للاطلاع على أكثر من 3 ملايين كتاب عربي
جدير بالذكر أن أسواق البحث العربية تعتبر من أكثر الأسواق تفاعلاً وحركة، وقد وصل عدد المستخدمين العرب عام 2005 إلى 24 مليون مستخدم، ويتوقع أن يصل عام 2008 إلى 43 مليون مستخدم.
